Penstemon barrettiae (Barrett’s penstemon)
Lilac to rose-purple flowers above bluish-green waxy leaves
This medium-sized perennial is found wild only in the Columbia River Gorge where it grows in rocky areas and well-drained soils. Bluish-green somewhat waxy evergreen leaves form a low mound with flower stems extending above bearing gorgeous rosy-purple to lilac flowers. Photo by Ben Legler.
