Description
Balsamorhiza careyana (Carey’s balsamroot)
Iconic Spring-Blooming Perennial
Native to Eastern Washington, this is the big, long-lived daisy we see in the shrub-steppe of south-central Columbia Basin. Its numerous, large basal leaves form a mass with yellow blossoms extending above. Blooms March to June. PLANT REQUIRES 2 OR MORE YEARS OF GROWTH BEFORE IT BLOOMS, but it is well worth the wait. NOTE: will be dormant and pot may look empty, but the roots have been checked and look healthy.
