Description
Anemone multifida (cliff anemone)
Mid-spring to early summer blooming perennial
A new addition to our plant sale, this plant grows in the foothills up to alpine meadows. This perennial has abundant basal, somewhat hairy leaves that are deeply lobed. One to several stems bear white to pale yellow flowers, often tinged with red, blue or purple on the outer surfaces. Likes good drainage. Likely to bloom in mid-spring to early summer in our area. In the wild spreads by rhizomes. Seeds do not have the long plumes found on garden variety anemones. Photo by Humble Roots Nursery
