Lilium columbianum (Columbia Lily)
Also known as small-flowered tiger lily
A single strong stem holds 1 to 10 yellow-orange flowers with dark orange to maroon spots on the inner surfaces, which flare or curve back, letting the stamens hang below. Whorled or scattered along the stem, leaves are 2-4″ long, bright green, and lance-shaped. Prefers well-drained soil. Water through June, then let it go dormant. Photo by Humble Roots Nursery
