Distinctive reddish-brown flowers above fern-like leaves
Plant has a large, woody taproot with distinctive reddish-brown (or occasionally yellow) flowers that rise in umbels above the fine-textured foliage. Young plants are slow growing as they develop their taproot. Needs good drainage, no added water after it starts to go dormant in summer. Photo by Don Knoke
