Penstemon humilis (low penstemon)
A new penstemon to try in our gardens
This perennial penstemon is found in the hills between Yakima and Ellensburg, but hasn’t been tried in native gardens much that we know of. It’s leaves and stems are covered in short hairs and are up to 6″ long and 1″ wide, forming a basal rosette or tuft. Blue to purple flowers bloom from May into summer.
Light: sun to partial shade
