Description
Sidalcea oregana (Oregon Checkermallow)
Raceme of beautiful pink to pinkish lavender flowers
Numerous deep pink to pinkish-lavender flowers grow in a spike-like cluster on this non-rhizomatous perennial. Leaves range from lobed to deeply palmate and are bright green growing from a sturdy taproot. Found in the Blue Mtns. and other areas surrounding the lower Columbia Basin, it should do fine with adequate water. Water through June, then let it go dormant. Photo by Humble Roots Nursery
