Description

Juniperus scopulorum (Rocky Mountain juniper)

Slow-growing evergreen tree

These aromatic trees grow faster and are shaped like a Christmas tree if given more water, and grow more slowly and have a rounded shape with less water. Juvenile branches have short needle-like leaves that are replaced by scale like leaves as branch matures.  Pea-sized berries are a blue-green color and are enjoyed by birds in winter.
