Description
Penstemon procerus (small-flowered penstemon)
A penstemon as a ground cover
This is a petite penstemon usually found in moderate to high elevation meadows throughout the west. Often forms a low mat of leaves with flower stems extending up above the leaves. Relatively small flowers range from blue to purple in color. This is a new species to try in our local gardens and we don’t know how it will grow here. It will probably require supplemental water.
