Description
Penstemon serrulatus (Cascade penstemon)
Blue/purple flowers in late spring and green leaves that turn reddish or purple in winter
This is a lovely plant of medium height, showy blueish- to pinkish-purple flowers, and evergreen leaves that turn maroon to purple in the winter. Usually found at higher elevations, it likes sun but may need a little shade in our area and a little additional water (but not too much). Prefers rocky well-drained soil. Photo by Ben Legler
